U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the United States can maintain its naval blockade on Iran indefinitely, according to a statement from the Pentagon. Speaking to reporters in Panama, where he attended the closing ceremony of a multinational exercise, Hegseth said the U.S. military could sustain its naval presence in the region "indefinitely" to continue the blockade on Iran. "The U.S. Navy can sustain the blockade indefinitely because we will rotate ships in and out as we have done and will continue to do, Hegseth said. Emphasizing that there is no specific time limit on the blockade against Iran, Hegseth reiterated that it will continue "as long as necessary.
