Authorities Are Investigating the Incident As Arson

A mobile speed camera in Pforzheim, Germany, was severely damaged by a fire early Friday morning, according to police. Authorities are investigating the incident as arson. Police reported that around 3:00 a.m., a burning car tire was placed in front of the speed measurement device.

The fire then spread to the trailer, which was likely completely destroyed. The estimated property damage is around 150,000 euros, according to a police statement. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, a police spokesperson said upon request. Police are now investigating on suspicion of arson and are seeking witnesses.
