Wrong-way Driver in Eastern Türkiye Fined 10K Lira After Ambulance Dashcam Captures Violation

The incident occurred on the Muş-Varto highway, where a 112 ambulance crew encountered a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The ambulance team reported the driver to authorities, prompting the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Traffic Gendarmerie units to launch an investigation. By reviewing camera footage, officers identified the offending driver as A.K. The driver was penalized under Article 46/2-h of Turkey's Highway Traffic Law No. 2918 for driving against the flow of traffic on a one-way road without any contrary signage.

The fine was issued as an administrative penalty of 10,000 Turkish lira.
