Five Friends Rescued After Getting Lost in Rugged Terrain Near Bodrum in Türkiye

The group was recovered following an approximately three-hour operation by emergency teams. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at Akvaryum Cove in the Bitez neighborhood. After swimming, the five friends decided to take a different route back.

As darkness set in, they lost their way and became stranded in a wooded, shrub-covered area on a steep slope. Upon receiving the report, police, Coast Guard, SAR Search and Rescue, and Neighborhood Disaster Volunteers Emergency Response Association (MAG-AME) teams were dispatched to the area. Search efforts were launched from both land and sea.

Despite the steep, rocky terrain and challenging natural conditions, teams reached the location where the five friends were found after about three hours. The young people were determined to be in good health and were safely brought out of the area to Bitez Harbor. Further checks there revealed no health issues.
