Mawlid, the Anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed's Birth, on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs

The ministry said Friday, Aug. 14, will mark the first day of Rabi al-Awwal 1448 AH, the third month of the Islamic calendar. The Mawlid is observed on the 12th day of Rabi al-Awwal. The ministry determines the beginning of Islamic lunar months in Morocco through the country's official moon-sighting system, with dates confirmed following observations conducted across the kingdom.
