Grand Seiko Has Refreshed Its Evolution 9 Collection, Introduced in 2020, With Subtle Refinements Rather Than a Complete Overhaul

The updated lineup reflects the brand's philosophy of "continuous improvement" through enhanced ergonomics, new materials, and updated movements. The collection comprises nine new references, with one of the most notable updates being a new bracelet clasp featuring a tool-free stepped micro-adjustment system. This system offers precise adjustment of up to 2 mm for a more personalized fit.

Seven models in the collection are crafted from Ever-Brilliant Steel, known for its high brightness and corrosion resistance, while two models feature High-Intensity Titanium cases, which are approximately 30% lighter than stainless steel. The renewed Evolution 9 Collection brings together two of Grand Seiko's key technologies: Spring Drive movements and high-frequency mechanical calibers, each representing the brand's precision philosophy through different approaches. Among the standout models, the SLGB007 features a black textured dial inspired by the night view of Lake Suwa and is powered by the Spring Drive U.F.A. caliber 9RB2, offering annual accuracy of ±20 seconds. The SLGB009, using the same movement, draws its dial design from the white birch forests of the Shinshu region, blending Grand Seiko's iconic nature theme with modern technology.
