The 32-Year-old Revealed Her Plans in an Interview With Aftonbladet, Saying the Move Feels Right After Winning a Bidding War for a House
Swedish cross-country skiing star Maja Dahlqvist is moving to Falun six months before the World Championships are held in the Swedish city. The 32-year-old revealed her plans in an interview with Aftonbladet, saying the move feels right after winning a bidding war for a house. Dahlqvist and her partner Kevin Bolger paid 6.8 million kroner for a waterside home in Falun following a fierce bidding round, according to Aftonbladet.
The couple moved to Trondheim, Norway, in 2024 to optimize training ahead of the 2025 championships in that city. Now Dahlqvist is relocating again as Falun prepares to host the World Championships over the New Year period. She enters a season that could be her last as a competitor.
I struggle a bit thinking that this is the last summer I'll train and the last winter I'll compete. I think you feel it more as time goes on, she said. Dahlqvist won gold in the team sprint and bronze in the individual sprint at the Olympics earlier this year, and took silver in the same event at Beijing 2022. She also holds multiple World Championship golds in team events and an individual sprint bronze from 2023.
