Turkey's Deposit Return System Recycles 100 Million Packages in Türkiye

Under the auspices of Emine Erdogan, the Zero Waste approach that spread from Turkey to the world has been integrated into daily life through the DOA system. So far, 100 million packages have been brought into recycling. Kurum said in a social media post: 'We will further grow DOA, which our nation loves very much, expand it and increase its impact area.

Of the collected containers, 66,146,145 were PET bottles, 17,043,567 were aluminum beverage cans and 16,993,273 were glass bottles. The top five provinces with the most collected packaging were Antalya, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Adana and Izmir. The national integration process for the DOA system began across Turkey on July 1, 2026.
