Tamil Nadu's Maiden Investment Conclave Secures ₹67,452 Crore From 97 Companies

Tamil Nadu's new government held its maiden investment conclave in Chennai on Thursday, securing ₹67,452 crore in investment commitments from 97 companies through signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
The Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, presided over by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, is projected to create 1,06,998 direct and indirect jobs. Seven institutional agreements were also signed. With these commitments, cumulative investments secured during the first 100 days of the new government have crossed ₹1 lakh crore, with more than 1.2 lakh job opportunities expected to be created, according to a statement.
The conclave includes 56 greenfield projects, while 25 projects represent companies undertaking their first project in Tamil Nadu. Among the top commitments, Germany's Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will invest ₹4,000 crore to expand its 400-acre Oragadam facility. France's Saint-Gobain will invest ₹2,000 crore across a new greenfield plant in Krishnagiri and an expansion in Kanchipuram. Japan's YKK, a zipper and fastening products manufacturer, will invest ₹1,651 crore in Tiruvallur, creating 4,316 jobs.
