Kuyucak District of Aydın, Turkey, Where Two Forestry Personnel Were Injured When a Water Tender Overturned During the Response in Türkiye

The fire started around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday near the Gencelli neighborhood in Kuyucak. The cause has not yet been determined, but strong winds helped the blaze spread rapidly. Upon receiving reports of the fire, authorities dispatched 6 planes, 11 helicopters, 40 water tenders, 5 water tankers, 3 bulldozers, and 220 personnel to the area.

During the intervention, one water tender overturned, injuring two forestry workers. Emergency medical teams (UMKE) were sent to provide first aid, and the injured were reported to be in good condition. As darkness fell, aerial operations were suspended, but ground crews continued fighting the fire through the night.

With the first light of morning on Wednesday, 4 planes and 6 helicopters resumed firefighting operations. The fire broke out in a forested area near Gencelli Mahallesi in Kuyucak district of Aydın province on Tuesday afternoon. The blaze grew rapidly due to windy conditions. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
