🇹🇷 TürkiyeState Opera and Ballet Festival Opens September 12 With Verdi's Attila in Türkiye

Organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the festival will open on September 12 with Giuseppe Verdi's opera Attila. All performances will begin at 9:00 PM local time.
The opening production, staged by the Antalya State Opera and Ballet, is a three-act work directed by Yiğit Günsoy. It tells the story of Hun ruler Attila and Odabella, exploring themes of power, loyalty, revenge, and belonging. Şafak Güç performs as Attila, Bilge Yılmaz as Odabella, Burak Pektaş as Foresto, and Serhat Konukman as Ezio.
The orchestra is conducted by Lorenzo Castriota and the choir by Mahir Seyrek. On September 15, the festival will present a ballet adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, choreographed by Young Soon Hue. This neo-classical production depicts Anna's tragic story shaped by love, loyalty, passion, and jealousy. Carl Orff's stage cantata Carmina Burana will be performed on September 19 and 21.
