Malawi and Cameroon Will Meet in the Final of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations After Contrasting Semi-final Victories on Wednesday

Malawi beat Algeria 3-1, with Tabitha Chawinga scoring twice and her sister Temwa adding another goal. Cameroon edged hosts Morocco 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw. Cameroon goalkeeper Michaely Bihina was the hero of the shootout, saving four Morocco penalties before Myriam Maéva Nyadjou converted the decisive kick.
Malawi, Cameroon, Morocco and Algeria — have also qualified for next summer's Women's World Cup in Brazil. For Malawi and Algeria, it will be their first appearance at the tournament. Morocco will make its second World Cup appearance after reaching the last 16 in 2023, while Cameroon have previously featured in the 2015 and 2019 editions.
