AK Party Spokesman Rejects DEM Co-chair's Remarks As Unfair Attacks

AK Party spokesman Ömer Çelik has rejected statements made by DEM Party co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları, saying the remarks unfairly target his party and the government. In a statement posted on his social media account, Çelik said: "We reject the statements of DEM Party co-chair Tülay Hatimoğulları that target our party and our government. While a brand new era has begun in Parliament with 467 acceptance votes, it is remarkable that the DEM Party co-chair's first statements unfairly and groundlessly target our party and our government.
Çelik also criticized Hatimoğulları for referencing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's words while discussing Turkey's stance on Israel's occupation of Palestine. "Our President, Cabinet members, AK Party officials, all our cadres and our nation are responding in the strongest way to Israel's occupation of Palestine, and we will continue to oppose this inhumane occupation. Turkey is the strongest voice of the alliance of humanity, he said.
"We condemn Hatimoğulları for addressing our opposition to Israel's occupation of Palestine by embracing the words of genocidal Netanyahu. No politician who supports the 'alliance of humanity' in Turkey or in the world would reference genocidal Netanyahu's words while explaining their own thesis, Çelik added. He called on Hatimoğulları to correct her statement, saying: "An approach that embraces genocidal Netanyahu's words is the most shameful record that can be added to a politician's history.
