EU Enforces PFAS Caps in Food Packaging From Aug 12, Adding Producer Duties

New EU packaging rules take effect Wednesday, August 12, across all member states, introducing strict limits on "forever chemicals" (PFAS) in food-contact packaging and setting new obligations for producers and importers. Additional measures aimed at reducing unnecessary packaging, boosting recycling and reuse, and restricting certain single-use products will be phased in gradually, with most taking effect from 2030.
