Etter Denies Stocker Influence in Investnet Sale to Raiffeisen at Vincenz Trial in Switzerland

The central question before the court is whether the lengthy prison sentence imposed on Vincenz is justified. Etter was questioned about Beat Stocker's initial stake in Investnet and the subsequent sale of the company. Etter had founded Investnet together with Peter Wüst, who has since died.

The discussion about Stocker's shareholding in Investnet first arose at the end of 2011. Presiding Judge Christian Prinz questioned Etter in detail about emails and bank transfers, to which Etter responded at length. Etter emphatically denied that Stocker had any influence over the negotiations to sell Investnet to Raiffeisen bank. Peter Wüst and I did everything in our power to prevent exactly that, Etter said.

He stated that no payment was made from them to either Stocker or Vincenz. Instead, they had openly disclosed Stocker's conflict of interest during the negotiations with Raiffeisen. The bank acted on this information and removed Stocker from the negotiation team, which Etter said resolved the issue for him.
