Oracle and Quantinuum Partner to Bring Quantum Computing to OCI Customers

The two companies announced the collaboration aimed at integrating Quantinuum's Helios system into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Financial terms of the deal and a launch date were not disclosed. Under the agreement, OCI customers will be able to access Helios through Oracle's quantum service.

The goal is to let users combine quantum computing with Oracle's graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure and high-performance computing services. Helios will be installed at an Oracle artificial intelligence data center in the United States and will run on-site within the OCI framework, integrated with the security and management mechanisms customers already use. Quantinuum commercially launched Helios last November.

In a joint statement, the companies said they will explore areas where quantum computing and AI infrastructure can be used together, particularly for problems requiring high computational power faced by businesses, as well as providing universities and research institutions broader access for scientific work. Quantinuum CEO Rajeeb Hazra said the next phase of enterprise computing will be shaped by the convergence of quantum, AI, and high-performance computing.
