Aksaray, Turkey, Quickly Spread Through the Elevator Shaft in Türkiye

The blaze, which started in an electrical panel due to a short circuit, was captured on drone footage as it engulfed the entire roof. The fire began on the evening of the previous day at Berat Apartmanı on 6629. Street in the Hasas neighborhood. The flames rose rapidly from the basement electrical panel through the elevator ventilation to the roof.

Fueled by wind, the fire quickly spread across the entire rooftop. Numerous police, health, and firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene. Roads were closed to traffic as a precaution, and firefighters used a ladder truck to combat the flames.

The interior of the building and moments of panic were captured on camera, while drone footage showed the roof engulfed in fire. The fire was extinguished by emergency crews, but it caused material damage to the building.
