Türkiye: Turkish Classic "Bizim Aile", One of the Most Cherished Films of the Yeşilçam Era, Is Being Adapted Into a Television Series

Producer Arzu Film is embarking on the project with the goal of capturing the spirit of those classic films. According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş's report, Arzu Film is preparing a series adaptation that will blend the warmth of the past with today's families and their conflicts. The company says the project was inspired by years of audience questions like, "Why aren't family films like this made anymore?

"We see that our society is tired of violence, dark intrigues, and stories that weigh on people's hearts, Arzu Film stated. "We believe our audience needs warm, sincere stories where they can gather around the same table again—stories that move them to laughter and tears, where they find something of themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods. Released in 1975, "Bizim Aile brought together legendary Turkish cinema names including Münir Özkul, Adile Naşit, Tarık Akan, Şener Şen, Ayşen Gruda, and Halit Akçatepe.

The film is remembered for Münir Özkul's famous monologue as Yaşar Usta. The plot follows Yaşar Usta's factory friend Talat Usta and his wife, who try to marry off Yaşar Usta and Melek Hanım. Their efforts succeed, but Yaşar has four children and Melek has three, and the children seem unable to get along.

While sibling fights rage at home, a new romance blossoms between Ferit, one of Melek's sons, and Alev, the daughter of a factory owner. However, Alev's father disapproves of the relationship and goes after both Ferit and his family—first getting Yaşar fired from his job, then throwing the family out of their home. This newly formed family learns what it truly means to be a family amid these hardships.
