The blaze, named the Timber Fire, has spread across 697 hectares (about 1,722 acres) and continues to burn in the coastal area. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) reported that the fire remains active in Big Sur. Firefighting efforts are ongoing despite challenging rugged terrain conditions.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. No injuries have been reported, and no damage notifications have been issued so far. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as crews work to contain the blaze in the scenic region known for its dramatic coastline and redwood forests.
