🇺🇸 United States400 Ex-us Intel Officers Warn Trump Era Risks American Democracy
More than 400 former U.S. intelligence officers have issued a stark warning that American democracy is under threat from what they describe as an authoritarian drift under President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the group The Steady State.
The group, composed of ex-CIA and other intelligence professionals, said the danger does not arrive "with the noise of tanks" but often with normality. It pointed to a president revoking 50 security clearances, an intelligence officer being removed without explanation, and officials who should resist choosing instead to stay silent.
