Natural Feedbacks in Ecosystems Such As Wetlands Will Add an Extra 20 to 30 Per Cent of Global Warming by 2100, According to a New Study.

These feedbacks, which include the release of methane and carbon dioxide from thawing permafrost and drying peatlands, are not fully accounted for in current climate models. The study highlights the urgent need to incorporate these natural processes into projections to better inform policy decisions on emissions reductions.
