New York City is marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, when terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people.
Ceremonies are being held at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in Lower Manhattan, where the names of the victims are being read aloud by family members.
