Turkey Completes 2,569 Disaster Housing Units in Kilis Under Century Construction Mobilization

Turkey's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has shared images of disaster housing built in Kilis as part of the "Century Construction Mobilization" campaign. The ministry said that after the Feb. 6, 2023 earthquakes, its affiliated bodies — TOKİ, the Urban Transformation Presidency, Emlak Konut GYO and the General Directorate of Construction Works — carried out construction at 3,481 sites across 174 areas in 11 provinces.

Over two years, a total of 455,357 independent units were completed and delivered in the earthquake zone, including 367,995 apartments, 65,672 village houses and 21,690 workplaces. In Kilis specifically, construction was completed on 2,569 units: 1,713 apartments, 852 village houses and four workplaces. The ministry shared the images on social media with the message: We built houses; our nation made them homes.
