Altun Hails Anafartalar Victory's Spirit on 111Th Anniversary

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun marked the 111th anniversary of the Anafartalar Victory, a key Ottoman victory during the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I, with a message highlighting the determination and sacrifice displayed by Turkish forces. The determination, courage and sacrifice displayed at Anafartalar showed the whole world how our nation united in the face of difficult conditions and what it can risk for its homeland, Altun said in his statement. The battle, which took place in August 1915 on the Gallipoli peninsula, was a significant Ottoman triumph led by Mustafa Kemal (later Atatürk) against Allied forces. Anafartalar'da sergilenen azim, cesaret ve fedakarlık, zor şartlar karşısında milletimizin nasıl kenetlendiğini ve vatanı uğruna neleri göze alabileceğini tüm dünyaya göstermiştir.
