The presidential office confirmed on Tuesday that Kim submitted his resignation to President Lee Jae-myung. In a statement, Kim denied any wrongdoing, saying, I did not directly extend or order the extension of the building. The controversy stems from reports that a stairwell next to the first-floor parking area of a five-story building in Daechi-dong, southern Seoul, was converted into a studio apartment and rented out.
