Türkiye: Turkish Gendarmerie Detains 132 Migrants and 9 Smuggling Organizers in Aegean Provinces

Four of the organizers have been arrested, while procedures for the others are ongoing. The operation, conducted by the Izmir and Mugla Provincial Gendarmerie Commands and the Coast Guard Aegean Sea Regional Command, involved land and sea searches targeting irregular migrants attempting to leave the country illegally. The detained migrants were handed over to Provincial Migration Administration Directorates, and deportation procedures have been initiated. The operation uncovered migrant smuggling networks in both provinces.
