A Shoplifting Suspect Jumped Into a River in Bedfordshire, England, to Escape a Police Officer Chasing Him on a Borrowed Bicycle

The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon. He was also wanted on a fail-to-appear warrant for 13 further theft offences.

The suspect was arrested after jumping into the river during a police chase in Bedfordshire, England. The officer borrowed a bike from a member of the public to pursue him through a park. The man eventually left the water after negotiations and was taken into custody.
