Filmotor Acquires World Sales Rights to Belarusian Documentary 'Letters From the Silenced Country'

Filmotor has acquired world sales rights to Letters From the Silenced Country, a partly animated documentary by Belarusian writer-director Andrei Kutsila, ahead of its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
The film, screening in the Venice Open – Out of Competition section, portrays contemporary Belarus through the stories of individuals affected by oppression. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The documentary marks Kutsila's latest exploration of political themes in his home country, which has faced international scrutiny over human rights abuses under President Alexander Lukashenko's government. The Venice Film Festival is scheduled to run from September 2-12, 2026.
