The index rose 45.68 points from Friday's close of 13,779.39, which had ended the day down 0.14%. The banking index gained 0.27%, while the holding index fell 0.28%. Global markets started the new week positively, supported by weak US employment data and fading expectations of interest rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve (Fed).

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index began the week at 13,825.07 points, up 0.33%. After a sell-off on Friday, the index had closed at 13,779.39 points, down 0.14%. At today's opening, it climbed 45.68 points from the previous close.
