Hisense's A10 E-ink Phone Stands Out With a Magnetically Attachable Color LCD Screen and Its Technical Specs

The device, unveiled in June 2026 with its design officially confirmed in July, offers a modular solution for users seeking a reading-focused device who occasionally need a color display. Unlike fixed dual-screen models, the A10 uses a monochrome e-ink panel as its main screen. Users can attach the magnetic color display when needed for photos, comics, or social media apps.

Newly shared real-world images clearly show how the accessory attaches and how switching between screen modes works. Users can toggle between e-ink and LCD modes via the physical Ink Smart Key, the quick settings menu, or the quick ball button. The main e-ink screen runs on a dedicated T2000 TCON chip that manages refresh rates and panel behavior.

Under the hood sits a 4nm octa-core Qualcomm QCM6690 processor developed for enterprise devices. Optimized for daily tasks and reading, this chip isn't designed for heavy gaming but promises stable performance with Android 16. The device also includes NFC, an infrared transmitter, magnetic wireless charging, local app cloning, and built-in call recording. The 6.13-inch paper-like main screen aims to reduce eye strain during long reading sessions and note-taking.

This display structure offers more efficient battery consumption compared to standard LCD panels, extending usage time. By making the color screen an optional module, Hisense aims to solve one of the biggest limitations of e-ink phones: multimedia inadequacy. The A10 will go on sale in China on August 28, 2026; whether it will reach international markets remains unclear.
