🇿🇦 South AfricaEleven People Were Killed in Three Separate Shooting Attacks in Cape Town, South Africa, Police Said.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) launched investigations into the attacks in the Khayelitsha, Langa and Gugulethu areas of the city. In the Lingelethu West area of Khayelitsha, three men aged 25, 31 and 35 were shot dead. In the KwaLanga area of Langa, four men and one woman were killed on Winnie Mandela Street.
In the Barcelona informal settlement in Gugulethu, two men and one woman were killed and two people were wounded. Police said additional units were deployed to the affected areas and other high-risk locations. Western Cape Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Sizakhele Dyantyi said the motive for the attacks had not yet been determined and appealed for information.
A reward of 100,000 South African rand (about $6,000) was offered for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators. Dyantyi noted that gang violence and illegal firearms pose serious security problems in the province. No arrests have been made so far.
