Netanyahu Cannot Afford to Appear Flexible on Hamas, With the Shadow of October 7 Looming

Aaron David Miller, a former U.S. negotiator in the Arab-Israeli peace process, said that no progress will be made in Gaza before the end of the year. Speaking from New York, Miller assessed that with Israel heading to elections on October 27, everything Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does until that day must be viewed through an electoral lens. This significantly limits any chance that Israelis will embrace, even minimally, the peace plan put forward by the Board of Peace and backed by President Trump. Netanyahu cannot afford to appear flexible on Hamas, with the shadow of October 7 looming.
