Billy Strings Dons Helmet After Fan Throws Lighter at His Head During Indiana Show

Grammy-winning bluegrass musician Billy Strings wore a protective helmet on stage the night after a fan threw a lighter that struck him in the head during a performance in Fishers, Indiana.
The incident occurred on Thursday, August 6, during the first of three scheduled shows at the venue in Fishers. Before the object hit him, Strings, 33, had been addressing the crowd about his happiness to perform after postponing a previous date. "Well, thank you so much, I’m so glad I can make it down here to make up for last time, he told the audience, as reported by NME.
After being struck, he reacted: "What the hell, man? Maybe not. Maybe I shouldn’t have come back.
He continued: "You know, why the f*** would you throw something at me? I was just getting ready to say how much I’m happy to be here, and I love you guys and all this shit and then you throw something and it hits me right in the f***ing head. He then gestured to the crowd and said: "Find out who that was and sodomize them, please. The following night, Strings took the stage wearing a protective helmet.
