Messi Reaches Preliminary Deal to Buy Spanish Club Eldense

The deal, which is not yet final, would see the Argentine star acquire a controlling stake in the club. Eldense currently competes in Spain's Segunda División, the second tier of Spanish football. The club, founded in 1921, plays its home matches at the Nuevo Pepico Amat stadium in Elda.

Financial terms of the proposed acquisition were not disclosed. The agreement is subject to further negotiations and regulatory approvals.
