Turkey's Parliament Has Passed a Law Containing Regulations on the Rights of Families of Fallen Soldiers and Veterans.
The bill, titled the Law on Amendments to Certain Laws, was approved by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and became law.
Turkey's parliament has passed a law expanding rights for families of fallen soldiers and veterans. The bill, approved in the TBMM General Assembly, guarantees the parents of martyrs an income equal to the net minimum wage. It also increases additional payments for veterans and disabled individuals requiring care, grants monthly salaries and social rights to those injured in counter-terrorism operations who are not classified as disabled, and raises the re-examination age limit for privates and corporals disabled in the line of duty from 41 to 55. The legislation was passed on August 10, 2026, according to the ANKA news agency.
