German Green Party lawmaker Kassem Taher Saleh has spoken publicly for the first time about his depression, telling Der Spiegel that the illness slowed him down. The 33-year-old, photographed in Berlin with the Charité hospital tower behind him, described symptoms including sleep disorders, loneliness and depressive thoughts, and discussed how his condition relates to the political profession.
