CNN Host Pivots to Rates As Guest Chokes on Air

A CNN interview took an unexpected turn when an economist swallowed a fly mid-segment, prompting the host to pivot to a new question.
University of Michigan professor Justin Wolfers was analyzing labor market data with CNN anchor Omar Jimenez on Saturday when an insect flew into his mouth, causing him to cough and struggle to speak. Wolfers had been describing the U.S. labor market as "The Little Engine That Could, noting it was not earning an A+ in anyone’s book but seemed remarkably resilient so far. He added, "But all resilient until the day that we’re not, before suddenly choking. Jimenez attempted to keep the segment moving by asking a question about interest rates while his guest cleared his throat.
