🇮🇱 IsraelHamas Reaffirms Commitment to Gaza Ceasefire Second Phase Despite Israeli Rejection

Hamas said it remains committed to the plan for implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, despite Israel's rejection of the proposal presented by the Peace Council. In a statement following Israel's refusal of the 15-point plan announced by the Peace Council for the second phase, Hamas called on mediator and guarantor countries to prevent any disruption of the implementation process or any Israeli attempts to undermine the ceasefire agreement. Hamas stressed its adherence to the understanding reached with mediators and the Peace Council regarding the second phase, adding that the agreed points must be implemented responsibly and seriously.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting that Israel rejected the 15-point plan and that its forces would not withdraw from occupied areas in Gaza until Hamas is completely disarmed. Nikolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, had announced that Hamas accepted a detailed roadmap for implementing the second phase. U.S. President Donald Trump had also said the Peace Council reached an agreement with Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza on disarmament.
