Administration Announced That Engineering Projects and Field Surveys Will Be Carried Out for the Dam, Which Aims to Meet the Water Needs

Project planning has begun for the Ortaköy Dam, planned to be built in the Karasu district of Sakarya, Turkey. The Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (SASKİ) announced that engineering projects and field surveys will be carried out for the dam, which aims to meet the water needs of the city's northern region. The dam, planned to be constructed on the Darıçayırı Creek, is expected to meet the region's long-term water needs along with the Çamdağı Dam and alternative sources, and also aims to supply water to new industry.
SASKİ General Manager Seyit Sakallıoğlu said in a statement: Alongside the work on the Ballıkaya Dam transmission line, we have now started engineering studies for the Ortaköy Dam, following projects that have accelerated construction of the Çamdağı Dam and brought alternative water sources into the system. Each of these investments we are implementing is an important part of our goal to secure the city's water future. Ballıkaya Barajı isale hattındaki çalışmaların yanı sıra yapımı hız kazanan Çamdağı Barajı ve alternatif su kaynaklarını sisteme kazandırdığımız projelerin ardından, şimdi de Ortaköy Barajı için mühendislik çalışmalarını başlattık. Hayata geçirdiğimiz bu yatırımların her biri şehrimizin su geleceğini güvence altına alma hedefimizin önemli bir parçasını oluşturuyor.
