A Kickboxing Championship Was Held in Kars, Turkey, to Mark the 962Nd Anniversary of the Conquest of Ani, a Unesco World Heritage Site

The event at the Ismail Aytemiz Sports Hall features 413 athletes from 10 countries, including 135 women. Provincial Youth and Sports Director Mehmet Başköylü said the event is important for promoting the city's history and culture, adding that his office organizes sports events in different disciplines every year on this meaningful date. Competitor Can Ahmet Topkaya said he has participated twice before and aims to win a belt this time.

Turkish Kickboxing Provincial Representative Serkan Timuroğlu noted this is the third edition of the championship and that matches have been exciting. Azerbaijani participant Mövlan Seyidov expressed happiness after defeating rivals to win a belt. The championship will last two days.
