🇮🇳 IndiaNabard Handloom Exhibition in Mumbai Records Over ₹67 Lakh in Sales

A three-day National Handloom Day exhibition-cum-sale organised by NABARD in Mumbai from August 5 to 7 recorded sales of more than ₹67 lakh, showcasing 15 weaving traditions from 14 states, including nine GI-registered products.
The event gave artisans direct access to urban consumers and created market linkages. The traditions showcased included Paithani, Pochampally Ikat, Kota Doriya, Sambalpuri, Bhagalpur Silk, Kantha Stitch and Kutch Shawls, among others. NABARD Chairman Shaji Krishnan V said the exhibition is an amalgamation of rural enterprise and culture, adding that such initiatives help connect rural producers with urban consumers and provide market access, including potential export opportunities.
NABARD also held a buyer-seller meet to facilitate direct interaction between artisans and buyers. An awareness session on ONDC and MyStore was organised to help artisans with digital onboarding, e-commerce, branding, catalogue preparation and online selling. NABARD said 43 handloom products supported by it have secured GI registration.
