Russian forces killed at least three people in Ukraine and wounded dozens more in overnight attacks, including a strike on an apartment building in Kharkiv that left two men dead and 21 injured, officials said Sunday.
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov said a 50-year-old and a 66-year-old man were killed when a high-rise in the Saltivskyi district was hit, with photos showing a gaping hole across four storeys. In the southern Kherson region, Russian artillery killed a 61-year-old woman in the Berislavsky district, the regional prosecutor's office said. In Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, an attack near a shopping mall wounded nine people, including four children, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X, calling it absolutely wicked.
Zelenskyy also reported strikes on the Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions. In Russia's Belgorod region, Ukrainian drone attacks killed three civilians overnight, TASS reported. A frequent target — Russian forces launched ballistic, antiship and anti-radar missiles plus more than 200 Shahed drones overnight, Ukraine's air force said on Telegram. Attacks were recorded at 22 locations.
