Yamal: I Won't Beg for Ballon D'or

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has said he will not campaign or beg for the Ballon d'Or, insisting the decision should be based on merit. The 17-year-old Spain international, who helped his country win the European Championship in July, said he prefers to let his performances on the pitch speak for themselves. Yamal's comments come as he continues to be linked with the prestigious individual award, which is given annually by France Football magazine.
