🇮🇶 IraqIraq's Regulated Digital Market, Having Met the Country's Standards for Digital Platforms and Services, According to the Communications

According to the regulator, Apple has been categorized as a trusted digital service provider in Iraq, which includes the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Arcade, and Apple Ads. The certification means Apple's digital services may now function under an official Iraqi regulatory framework, having passed the CMC's technical and legal standards. Iraqi officials said the decision is anticipated to boost the country's digital economy and enhance the investment climate for multinational technology firms.
The development also corresponds with a significant step toward Apple's physical presence in the Iraqi market. Asiacell has reached a direct arrangement with Apple to include iPhones in its retail network across Iraq. As part of the cooperation, Asiacell will provide real Apple products with valid warranties throughout its network, while retail personnel will undergo Apple-approved training. The regulatory permission and Asiacell deal represent a substantial change in Apple's position in Iraq, pushing both digital services and official device distribution further into a market of over 46 million people.
