Salvini's Migrant Claim Contradicted by Ministry Data Showing Just 14 Arrivals Stopped

Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini claimed on Friday that authorities are blocking "dozens" of irregular migrants arriving from Spain at airports, but official figures from the Interior Ministry indicate only 14 have been stopped, and none from Ceuta. Speaking on the sidelines of a League party meeting in Milan, Salvini also said Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez "would do better to keep quiet" amid the diplomatic row between Italy and Spain over the Ceuta incident.
