🇮🇳 IndiaTelangana Government Will Leverage Artificial Intelligence to Strengthen

Telangana Government will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen the State’s GST administration, plug revenue leakages and improve tax collections according to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. During a meeting with noted economist Arvind Subramanian here on Friday, the Chief Minister reviewed strategies to improve the State’s fiscal position through technology-driven reforms, particularly in the GST and Excise departments. The State government was planning to introduce an AI-enabled system to simplify processes for GST officials while helping identify tax leakages and enhance revenue mobilisation.
The reforms should not create additional compliance burdens or inconvenience for businesses. Subramanian said the proposed use of AI would help improve tax administration by increasing State revenues while simultaneously strengthening the ease of doing business through more efficient and data-driven governance. The proposed AI platform would integrate data from departments such as Municipal Administration, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Panchayat Raj, Electricity, Finance and Commercial Taxes to improve tax compliance.
The Chief Minister further suggested integrating data from MeeSeva, Aarogyasri and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund into the AI-driven platform, saying such convergence would strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency across departments, according to a release.
