The Cause of the Fire, Which Started Late Last Night, Is Not Yet Known

Firefighters are battling a forest fire that broke out overnight in a wooded area near the villages of Karaağaç and Yelbastı in the Besni district of Adıyaman, Turkey. The cause of the fire, which started late last night, is not yet known. After residents spotted smoke and flames, they alerted the 112 emergency call center.

Fire crews, AFAD disaster teams, gendarmerie, forestry officials, and other public agencies were dispatched to the scene. When ground efforts, joined by villagers, proved insufficient, two helicopters were deployed for aerial support.
