The 24-year-old Briton, ranked world No. 147, was in doubt after breaking down in tears during his comeback match at the National Bank Open in Montreal, his first since June following a recurrence of bone bruising that sidelined him for nearly seven months. Draper had also entered the Brownsburg Challenger (August 10-16) but will now head to Cincinnati, where Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn due to a wrist injury. The US Open, for which Draper would need a wild card, starts August 30. The former world No. 4 has missed all three Grand Slams in 2026 due to injury, slipping in the ATP rankings.
