Forza Italia's Enrico Costa Defends Refusal to Use Chat Messages in Bisteccheria Case

Forza Italia's lower-house leader Enrico Costa defended the majority's refusal to allow prosecutors to use chat messages involving former undersecretary Andrea Delmastro in the Bisteccheria d'Italia investigation.
We defend rights, not politicians, Costa told La Repubblica, adding that a meeting on the party's justice proposals was postponed by Justice Minister Carlo Nordio. He listed prison overcrowding and victim compensation as priorities. Delmastro, who is not under investigation, exchanged messages with Mauro Caroccia, a figure in the Bisteccheria d'Italia probe.
Doveva esserci un incontro sulle proposte di FI ma il ministro Nordio lo ha rinviato. In Aula affermeremo le nostre idee sulla giustizia, Costa said.
