Businesses Have Long Considered the Tax Plate a Must-have Document, As It Determines Both the Taxable Earnings and the Corresponding Tax

Previously, companies were required to display this certificate prominently on their premises, but a 2011 legal change scrapped that rule. While hanging the physical document is no longer mandatory, it is still not prohibited, and businesses may continue to do so if they wish. The key requirement now is that the document must be kept on hand and presented to authorities upon request.
The e-tax plate, whose format and content are set by the Ministry of Finance, shows the earnings subject to taxation and the taxes due on them. It can be checked and reviewed by employers over time, and anyone can look up the tax status of a business they shop at or receive services from online, without needing to visit a tax office. There are two main ways to query an e-tax plate.
Through the e-Devlet portal, users log in with their national ID number and a password obtainable from PTT branches. After clicking the e-Tax Plate Inquiry tab under the Revenue Administration, they must enter either the business owner's national ID or tax ID number, along with the province and the tax office the business is affiliated with. This allows users to verify whether the person is a taxpayer, check the business's tax number, and learn its title.
Alternatively, the Ministry of Finance's Revenue Administration (GİB) also allows private individuals to perform inquiries. This service lets businesses check whether their tax plate is up to date. If the query reveals that the plate is outdated, the business's responsible party is notified via message, and a new e-tax plate can be prepared and delivered promptly upon request.
To use this route, taxpayers visit navigate to the Help and Resources section, then Dilekçematik, and finally the tax plate section to complete the inquiry. Taxpayers must fulfill certain procedures to obtain a tax plate. Once they are in an employer position within a tax bracket, they are required to complete these steps.
Based on declarations submitted by taxpayers, the Revenue Administration's IT system generates a tax plate reflecting the information in the declaration. This document is then transferred to the taxpayer's tax office account.
